CLEVELAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
May 2009 Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
Cleveland UMC Mission Week
June 1st -5th
Right here in White County
Cleveland United Methodist Church would like to invite you to join us for "White County Mission Week" June 1st -
5th. We have decided to do mission work in our local area this year and would like to have as many church members as
possible to get on board. Lets all take one week to serve people in need right in our own back yard. Here are just a few
of the services we will be offering.
Work around the Church
Yard work: mowing, weeding, bush trimming, etc...
Minor repairs
Painting
House work: vacuum, dust, bathrooms, kitchens, garages, etc… White County Food Pantry: stocking shelves
Thrift Store: sorting, stocking, customer service, etc…
Nursing Home: reading to the elderly, etc…
If you are, or know someone that is in need of some help, attached to this newsletter is a questionnaire for you to fill out
letting us know what the needs are and how we can help meet them. Youth and children will be involved in this, but to
assure that things run smoothly, we have set guidelines. By allowing families to work together, we hope this enables
people at an early age to see the impact of people coming together to make White County a better place one step at a
time.
If you know of any churches that would like to join in please feel free to pass this information on to them. We are
hoping that this is just the beginning of a wonderful way to help those in need right here in our local area. This event is
open to all denominations. Serving others is a Universal Christian act that brings Christians together to form the body of
Christ.
If you have any questions about "Mission Week" please contact me either by phone (706-865-2228) or by email at

Thank You,
